Deep-sea fishing off the coast of Watamu
The fishing experience off the coast of Watamu is unparalleled. It's one of the few places in the world where you can catch three species of marlin, sailfish, swordfish, giant trevally, and many more!
We take anglers fishing for half or full days, leaving early in the morning, before sunrise. All types of anglers are welcome, from beginners to experts.
What is the best month for fishing?
Every year, from October to April, the waters off the Kenyan coast are renowned for hosting some of the best deep-sea fishing! The yellowfin tuna season begins in August and ends in October, where you can catch plenty of tuna and wahoo. When the northeast monsoon blows, predatory swordfish invade the Kenyan coast in large numbers. This triggers the marlin season, which runs from December to mid-March. If you're looking for sailfish and marlin, this is the ideal time.

The boat
The Alfajiri boat is powered by two new Yamaha twin engines. It is a 24 foot centre-console boat that allows 4 people to fish comfortably plus the crew. A safety briefing is conducted before getting on the boat.

Sunrise fishing charters
Leaving at 3:30am before the sunrise, we take fishing charters for half or full day trips. The best time of the day is at the turn of light where you’ll see big game fish on the hook.

Eat what you catch
Fresh fish is undeniably the best, and it tastes even better when you’ve caught it! We only take what will be eaten that day. Our Chef prepares the fish to be eaten for for lunch or dinner.
